To the residence of Jonesboro, Georgia
Hello,
This effort is to assist in openning doors to the greater world of who you are as well as others through Inter - Cultural Communications via the internet.
This blog and the associated website is based upon the principle of cultural democracy. What this means is that you the community - online ( because your are now using a computer to read this ) user has the means to impact your community with others through your contribution to what is being published on the internet about your community. A community has many voices, and those who are not aware of either your community or the diversity among your very own people should be likewise known.
This is a mirror reflection of us all, and depicts the very differences each community has, which then becomes the very scoiocultural richness and valuable assests we need to maintain a rich an full life -individually. Moreover, this effort was started as a result when suggestions were offered by two Cornell student's emails - right after I place Ithaca Night Life ( NightLife ), NY online. Since then I have cover many other communities, and have enlisted help from the very same communities I have covered in my Night Life ( NightLife ), RMC series of blogs, journalsites and websites. Histroical View of Jonesboro, Georgia
Historical View of Jonesboro, Georgia:
Jonesboro lies in that part of Georgia first opened to white settlement by the 1821 Treaty of Indian Springs and long occupied by the Coweta tribe of the Creek Indian Confederation. The community was originally known as Leaksville and was at the crossroads of the old Strawn Trail, an Indian trail running from the southwest to Stone Mountain, and the White Hall Wagon Road, running from the present West End section of Atlanta south toward Griffin. The Strawn Trail became an early stagecoach route.
Construction of the Monroe Railroad to Leaksville in 1843 marked a new life for community. That same year the railroad's chief engineer, Samuel Goode Jones (1815-86), laid out a new town according to a formal plan that literally overlay the original village. In appreciation for Jones's contribution, Leaksville was renamed Jonesboro. Regular service was opened on the railroad in 1846. The Macon and Western Railroad later became the Central of Georgia and is now a part of the Southern Railway system. Jonesboro immediately became an important railway trade center for a wide area in Fayette and Henry counties, although the town did not obtain its corporate charter until December 13, 1859.
As Jonesboro drew new citizens and merchants from the surrounding area, local leaders decided that it should become the seat of a new county. On November 30, 1858, an act of the state legislature created Clayton County, named for Augustin Smith Clayton (1783-1839), a distinguished attorney and congressman from Athens. The new county's land was taken from the original 1821 counties of Fayette and Henry. Until 1858 Jonesboro lay in Fayette County on the Henry County line. As the seat of Clayton County, Jonesboro was a thriving small town until the Civil War (1861-65) brought an end to the old order. The town was virtually destroyed during the war due to Union raids and the Battle of Jonesboro. Recovery was slow, and as late as the 1890s ruins left from the war remained in the Main Street business district. Only a few antebellum buildings now survive.
It is here where the Christian family has our Hermitage, a few miles out south of the community.

[ Cultural Democracy ]
Cultural Communications:
Cultural communications is the very heart of this system, and through the internet a free flow flow of information network has already been established to allow this to happen. What is being done, is that an intiative based upon cultural democracy has been now established for your the community online user to participate. More importantly, for those who are contributing valued information getting known on the internet too!
All too often, several events are simply not know by travelers, tourist, or those who are looking for communities to move and live. It is envisioned by this process that events become both known, and popular at the sametime. Moreover, new talent is happening all the time, and thus should likewise be promoted too!
Beyond that, is the emergence of the event provider, and thus system become even more crucial, and for two very important respects.
One: The promotion of the community itself, as represented in its entertainment value.
Two: The economic activity it establishes by which industries are likewise locally developed.
Thus this crucial initiative and where it starts for you is on this webpage...
